M S Logistics completes breakbulk ex from Mumbai, India to Colombo, Sri Lanka

XLP member, M S Logistics, undertook shipment of 4 Fermenter Tanks (2160 HL capacity with dimensions of 21.10 meters L x 5.03 meters W x 5.12 meters H / 28 mt each).

The total volume loaded with owners was 2200 cbm of freight. The scope of work involved haulage of the tanks from supplier’s factory at Pune (150 miles from Mumbai port ) on M S Logistic’s mechanical and hydraulic trailors ( 70 feet long as no overhanging allowed ) and ground clearance of 3 feet to ensure safe movement to Mumbai port without touching overhead bridges / electricity cable. The shipment was loaded on Maldives Pride v 006 and sailed to Mumbai on 9th July 2105 and reached Colombo on 14th July 2015 within time frame contract with consignee.

The last 2 tanks were trucked in a  record time of 4 days from plant to connect vessel in difficult hill conditions and with monsoon in full force in western ghat. M S Logistics have been with Indian supplier Alfa Laval Ltd successfully executing their various projects ex Nhava Sheva / Chennai to Nigeria , Colombo , Egypt , Iran and others destinations with help of their Liner partners in India along with their offices in India, Dubai, Nigeria, partners worldwide. This was their first successful direct dealing with Lion Brewery PLC , Sri Lanka’s major beer brand LION manufacturer besides Carlsberg Beer.
