Good co-operation between XLP members Freja and EWF!
Recently Freja and EWF successfully worked together on a project for the delivery of a large ship part, made in Shanghai, China and destined for a shipyard in Vyborg, Russia.
The Nozzle was 535 cm x 500 cm x 200 cm with a weight of 12600 kgs, loaded on a 20’ flat rack.
The main challenges were in the documentation and the timeframe of the delivery. With deliveries to Russia, documentation is of the highest importance and by closely communicating Freja and EWF prepared the documents perfectly.This resulted in a no-delay delivery to the shipyard.
According to Freja, the most exciting part of the job was when they tried to leave the port of St.Petersburg in the middle of the night, only to find that the main exit gate had been recently modified, and changed to a width of 500 cm from its original width of 550 cm!
It took some middle-of-the-night phone calls to get permission to leave via a different gate, but with that they also managed!
This project was the second time Freja and EWF have worked together on a delivery to Russia, since EWF joined XLProjects.
