XL Projects Network (XLP) just celebrated their 3rd AGM in Malaysia. Members from around the world were invited to attend. With over 100 attendees, XLP more than doubled last year’s numbers and proved again that it is one of the premier projects networks in the world.

The meeting was held at the Shangri-La Hotel and began with a cocktail party to register and welcome everybody. The following morning, the AGM featured various presentations from members, corporate software partners, corporate sponsors and finally from AIN’s very own Gary Dale Cearley.

Presenters were:

  • Gary Dale Cearley, Managing Director, Advanced International Networks Ltd (AIN)
  • Kevin Gibbens, Regional BDV Manager for Special Cargo in Asia, Maersk Line
  • Jimmy Tay, Business Development Executive, WiseTech Global
  • Alan Baldwin, Business Development Manager/Engineering and Logistics Centre, Volga-Dnepr Group

One-to-one meetings followed the presentations. The meetings were in blocks of 20 and 30 minutes. After which, the members were treated to a banquet held at Signature Hill. The final day of the XLP AGM was a constant stream of one-to-one meetings. This was capped with a raffle in which the prize was an iPad Air.

The AGM concluded as an absolute success and while the XLP staff members worked tirelessly, the lion share of the credit must go to the members for whom the event was for in the first place. The attendees came to network, but it is clear that they also departed having made many new friends.

“This was my second AGM with XLP and seeing the noticeable growth from Budapest in 2014 was just a small factor of why it went so well.” Said Steve Cross, Business Development Manager of XLP. “The buzz throughout the entire AGM was encouraging and feedback has already come back better than I could have imagined.”

“The XLP AGM in Malaysia last week was really good.” Added Julio C. Struve, Director at Servitrans C.A. “XLP is very organized and people like that. Congratulations!”

“This year’s AGM was exquisite, perfect location, perfect communication and prospects of repetitive business are coming along.” Said Korku Sedemor Adjorlolo, Marketing/ International Business Officer at McDan Shipping.

“Indeed it was a pleasure being at the AGM.” Stated Carsten G. Melberg, Managing Director at SaCeMa Project Shipping. “Good to see the growth of the network and I indeed felt the attendants all had a good view on the project industry. Please keep it this way to continue the quality of the network and to attract even more specialists.”

XLP would like to express their gratitude to the following for their assistance: Volga-Dnepr Group, the event’s Admiral Sponsor. Star Shipping (Pakistan), the Name Badge Sponsor. L.C. van Tiel Logistics B.V., the Commodore Sponsor.

The dates and location of the 2016 XLP AGM will be announced in the near future.
