ROHLIG SUUS Logistics SA Handles ASU Air Separation Unit

2 min read

ROHLIG SUUS Logistics SA successfully completed an interesting and demanding project. They handled a total of 5,559 freight tons and approximately 20 standard containers making up the ASU Air Separation Unit were imported from China, UAE, Turkey and India to a final destination in central Poland. To finalize all deliveries, four pieces were shipped on cargo charter vessels, and four units as breakbulk on container service vessels, with rest of oversize cargoes using RORO service and flat rack OOGs. The biggest dimensions exceed 24 meters in length, 6.3 meters in width and 6.50 meters in height with weight per piece of 103 tons. To manage deliveries within Poland, ROHLIG SUUS team used river barges and specialized trailers. Method statements, risk assessments and stowage/lashing calculations for each part of journey were a must at each step of the project. However, they managed to secure a very high level of satisfaction with customer.
