Precision and expertise: A successful multimodal logistics operation from the UAE to Poland.
Dubai, February 6, 2025 – Octagon Freight Services LLC proudly highlights its logistics expertise through a large-scale project executed in collaboration with Promaritime International Project France and Rohlig SUUS Logistics SA Poland. This project involved the transportation of a 77.5-ton N2 Cold Box and turbine casings/accessories for Air Liquide, from Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City (RAK) to Poland, transiting via Jebel Ali Port and Rotterdam.
A Complex Logistics Challenge
The project presented a significant technical and operational challenge, requiring the transport of an oversized N2 Cold Box measuring 27.8 x 5.05 x 4.01 meters, along with additional turbine casings and accessories, which were shipped using 40-foot flat racks and standard 40-foot containers.
Octagon Freight ensured a seamless, safe, and optimized multimodal transit, leveraging breakbulk shipping via CMA CGM while adhering to strict industry requirements.
A Carefully Orchestrated Operation
To guarantee the success of this complex logistics endeavor, Octagon Freight and its partners meticulously planned and executed the following steps:
- Mobilization of specialized trailers and manpower at the Air Liquide RMC site in Ras Al Khaimah.
- Loading the Cold Box onto a conventional hydraulic trailer using a crane provided by the client.
- Cargo securing and pre-transport safety checks before the journey to Jebel Ali.
- Nighttime transportation with special permits and police escorts across RAK, UAQ, and Dubai to minimize disruption.
- Direct delivery to Terminal 4 at Jebel Ali Port for immediate vessel loading.
In line with its commitment to safety and quality, Octagon Freight conducted a detailed route survey, risk assessment analysis, and method statement submission to Air Liquide Middle East Manufacturing (ALMEM). Additionally, all required permits were obtained, and specialized HSE training was provided to personnel to ensure full compliance with site safety protocols.
