What Shipment Did Mega Online Logistics Manage?
Mega Online Logistics SL, a member of the XLProjects Network (XLP), managed a coaster charter from Barcelona, Spain, to Haydarpaşa, Turkey, involving 20 boxes with a total volume of 715 FRT and a combined weight of 465 metric tons.
The operation required coordinated port handling and inland transportation, with several cargo units up to 50 tons, measuring up to 3.9 M wide and 3.85 M.
How Did Mega Online Logistics Handle the Project Cargo?
The scope covered road transportation to the port, cargo reception and loading onto the vessel. Mega Online Logistics also managed lashing and welding on board to ensure the cargo was properly secured for the sea voyage.
The project was carried out in cooperation with former XLP member CTF Global, with whom Mega Online Logistics had previously connected through an XLProjects conference.
How Did the Team Meet the Tight Schedule?
The main challenge was the limited time available to arrange 15 trucks and complete vessel loading. With only two days of advance notice, Mega Online Logistics completed the full operation within six days, from quotation to completion.
The short lead time required close coordination of trucking, port reception, vessel loading and securing activities. The operation demonstrated the importance of rapid planning and execution in time-sensitive project logistics.
