Global Logistics Projects Moves Wagon Portique

< 1 min read

Global Logistics Projects has recently moved a large wagon portique from Antwerp, Belgium to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The RORO service was booked directly with Grimaldi.

The dimension of the wagon portique was 1,220 x 327 x 310 cm and it had a gross weight of 13,900 kgs. It is a part of a big project, which consists of 6 wagons and 3 cases – total weight of 200 tons and total volume of 1,200 m3.
The biggest load that is coming up on November 10, 2022, will have a dimension of 2,370 x 313 x 430 cm and the gross weight will be 44,000 kgs.

All the wagons from this project are being produced in Crissier, Switzerland and as of a total transport height of 5 m, the lines must be switched off in Lausanne, Switzerland. The transport from Crissier is going via Lausanne to Basel, Switzerland and from there by barge to Antwerp.

However, due to all the construction sites that are currently in Switzerland, the bus lines in Lausanne must be switched off during night. That is a challenge for the moves because that could delay their plans. Their professional team at Global Logistics Projects are working hard to implement good planning and coordinating for smooth and efficient transportation.
