FLS Projects Join the Diamond Elephant Foundation in Thailand
Volunteers from FLS Projects Thailand were invited to join the Diamond Elephant Foundation at Wat Thung Hiang in Phanut Nikhom, Chonburi.
The temple takes care of more than 300 hill tribe children from the north of Thailand who flee poverty and human trafficking. The children live and study in a school under the patronage of Senior Monk – Luang Pu Boon.
The monks are trying their best to provide the facilities for these children to grow and thrive in a safe environment. Unfortunately, the temple faces a lack of funds and support, which results in many of the children being malnourished and underweight.
When hearing about this the DIAMOND ELEPHANT FOUNDATION with the support of FLS PROJECTS quickly arranged four – 10 liters gas-fired rice cooker and built a concrete counter for the rice cooker with a fenced off storage area to safely store the gas bottles needed to operate the rice cooker.
After having a nicely cooked rice lunch together with the children and some ice cream dessert the volunteers were happy to donate much-needed goods, milk and new toys to the children’s home.
