B&M Logistica Manages Challenging Generator Shipment from Brazil to Canada

2 min read

B&M Logistica Internacional Ltda handled the shipment of two 70-ton generators from Paranagua, Brazil, to Montreal, Canada. The generators were loaded onto a Full Container Vessel as Breakbulk cargo, along with a Flat Rack Container for the accessories.

This project was an Ex-works shipment, where the team managed the entire shipping process from the client’s plant to the port of discharge. The B&M Log team planned the stowage of the Flat Racks to reduce the number of containers used, as the client had initially considered using more.

Due to the weight of the generators, direct loading was necessary. The cargo was delivered during the vessel’s operation to minimize movement at the port. This was the most challenging aspect—aligning the delivery time with the vessel’s arrival to avoid extra truck detention charges and ensure the team did not miss the vessel’s departure.

In the end, with diligent monitoring by their Project Cargo Department, B&M Log executed the shipment with excellence, achieving the lowest possible costs for the operation.
