FPSO Skid

What Project Cargo Operation Was Completed by Manuport Logistics?

Manuport Logistics, a member of the XLProjects Network (XLP), recently completed the transportation of an Oil & Gas skid for an FPSO project through a highly engineered heavy transport operation. With zero margin for error, the shipment involved a transport height of nearly 8 M, requiring several weeks of detailed planning, route engineering, and continuous operational supervision to ensure safe cargo movement.

How Was the Heavy Transport Operation Executed?

Manuport Logistics used a specialized trailer configuration, featuring a powerful prime mover combined with a modular trailer set-up with 6 independent axle lines to transport the skid safely.

Because of the cargo’s extreme height (close to 8 meters), detailed route surveys and official approvals were mandatory. High-voltage overhead air cables had to be bypassed twice along the route. The operation also demanded hours of technical drawings, extensive engineering calculations, and a dedicated on-field supervisor following the entire circuit to manage execution in real time.

This successful project clearly highlights Manuport Logistics’ expertise in handling CAPEX-driven complex logistics and heavy project cargo for the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors.
