Project Overview

Carriage Global successfully handled a door-to-door shipment from Singapore to Yantian, China, involving oversized and overweight cargo. The shipment required detailed planning, close coordination and hands-on execution across all parties from origin to final delivery.

The entire operation was carried out using Carriage Global’s in-house lashing and lifting team along with the company’s own haulage fleet. Carriage Global is a project freight forwarder based in Singapore offering land logistics solutions to partners and clients, including cross-border trucking and local trucking supported by its own fleet of 15 low-bed trailers, three modular trailers, normal skeleton chassis and air-ride trailers for aircraft engines.

The company also provides services such as fumigation, fabrication of boxes for oversized and general cargo, stuffing, unstuffing, lashing, unlashing, lifting operations, lifting calculations, lashing surveys, and regular Singapore to Batam, Bauan, Karimun Island (Tg. Belai) and East Malaysia tug and barge services using multimodal transport.

Shipment Details

  • Route: Singapore → Yantian (Door-to-Door)
    Equipment Used:
    • 3 × 40’ Flat Rack (Over Width / Over Height)
    • 1 × 20’ Flat Rack (Over Width / Over Height)
    Cargo Type: Out-of-Gauge (OOG)

The shipment required the use of a super low-bed trailer due to the oversized dimensions. Carriage Global is among the few haulage operators in Singapore with its own fleet of super low-bed trailers, which are often required because of the country’s many low-clearance structures such as pedestrian bridges, tunnels and power lines.

Operational Challenges & Solutions

Transporting OOG cargo with over-width and over-height dimensions required careful planning and execution. Operational challenges were further intensified by fluctuating bunker prices and the limited time frame in which shipping lines validate freight rates.

With only about one week between booking confirmation and cargo loading, close coordination with all involved parties, including port operators and shipping lines, was essential. By utilizing its in-house manpower and fleet, Carriage Global was able to reduce reliance on external service providers and ensure smoother operational control.

Key Achievements

  • Safe and on-time delivery of all cargo units
    • Successful handling of complex OOG flat rack operations
    • Smooth coordination across origin, ocean and destination stages
    • Full compliance with inspection and regulatory requirements

Conclusion

This project highlights Carriage Global’s capability in managing complex OOG and heavy-lift cargo in a safe and controlled manner. With strong in-house resources, experienced operational teams and close coordination with partners, Carriage Global continues to deliver reliable end-to-end project logistics solutions.

The company remains committed to strengthening its role as a dependable partner for project cargo movements across global trade lanes.
