Khimji Ramdas Shipping (KRS), Projects and Multi-Modal Logistics, demonstrated its expertise in managing critical and time-sensitive logistics operations by successfully delivering oversized capital goods for the pilot Green Hydrogen and Ammonia facility in Duqm, Oman.
The project scope included receiving cargo under the vessel’s hook, customs clearance, port handling, transport with the necessary permits and escorts, and safe unloading at the project site. The shipment comprised 14 packages, including a single unit weighing 120 metric tons.
A key factor in the operation’s success was the meticulous planning that allowed trailers to be positioned under hook prior to the vessel’s arrival. This enabled swift discharge and faster vessel turnaround, delivering a commercial advantage to the client. The oversized cargo was transported to the port yard for customs inspection using specialized trailers, with nighttime transits conducted under police escort to ensure public safety and traffic compliance.
KRS worked closely with port and customs authorities to obtain all necessary permits for delivery to the client’s facility within the Duqm Free Zone. A comprehensive route survey was conducted before the vessel’s arrival, with detailed transportation and unloading plans coordinated and implemented with all stakeholders.
Throughout the operation, KRS maintained full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards—aligning with both the end client’s protocols and KRS‘s internal safe work practices.
This successful execution reaffirms KRS’s position as one of Oman’s most trusted logistics partners in the renewable energy sector, consistently delivering complex cargo movements with precision, safety, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
