Moving a 100+ tonne fully dressed Komatsu D475A-3 Dozer is no easy task for most transport companies. This job was complicated by the machine being situated on unstable swampy ground and the dozer being over 5.2m wide. NMT Oceania came highly recommended by the supplier to handle this job due to their local support and experience with moving large machinery on as is, where is basis.
Initially the client awarded the business to a competitor who believed they could transport this unit from site fully dressed and ship assembled to Xingang. They were wrong and did not understand the RoRo service limitations of RoRo carriers into Xingang. The client, frustrated by their initial choice of agent, came back to the professional team at NMT Oceania to get this machine shipped without further hassle and delays.
NMT Oceania’s solution included the hiring of an all terrain fork-lift, hire of crane (for blade), and purchase of heavy duty pallets. Their diesel mechanics who attended the site had all the necessary equipment (generators, tools, etc) to strip the machine onsite into a suitable shipping configuration. Not only did the NMT way save the client money, but it saved them time and hassle of dealing with other companies.
